The GForce Engineering 9” IRS for the 2015+ Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat, SRT and Scat Pack is a complete independent rear suspension that replaces your drive-line from the transmission back. Includes a fabricated 9” housing that bolts to the stock differential mounting points. It also includes GForce bullet-proof Renegade or Outlaw axles, 35-spline inner stubs, new outer stubs, 4” aluminum driveshaft and a complete modified rear cradle assembly including cradle to body and diff to cradle bushings.

What makes this kit different than most 9” kits we offer is the modified cradle assembly. In many cases, we strive to make the 9” a “bolt-in” solution that fits into the factory cradle and uses factory mounting locations. However, with the Challenger and Charger, we found there to be several geometry limitations that were proving to be weak points in such a powerful and heavy application. It’s not a secret that the cradle and suspension design in these cars is a dated design. The location of the differential, less-than-desirable axle angles and very soft bushings were causing premature wear and failure in many of the drivetrain parts, including axles, differentials and driveshafts. This problem was only magnified when lowering the car, going to a taller tire or softer springs allowing for more compression on hard launch.

Purchasing this kit is a lot more than just a center section, axles and driveshaft. It truly is a new driveline; complete with a new, modified subframe, cradle and differential bushings, improved geometry and everything else you would expect from a GForce 9” kit.

9” Assembly:

  • Fully fabricated 9” housing – One-piece, laser cut, CNC-bent and tig welded for flawless finish and unmatched strength.
  • Heavy duty front mount
  • Your choice of our Renegade (standard price) or Outlaw (+$400) axles
  • 35 Spline Inner Stubs – One piece, CNC-Machined from billet steel
  • Upgraded outer stubs
  • Strange Engineering Pro-HD Aluminum Third Member with 35 spline S-Trac Differential –
  • Your choice of gear ratio
  • All necessary hardware for installation
  • 4.0″ Aluminum one-piece driveshaft included

    >Rear Cradle Modifications:

  • All labor for modifications (welding, bushing removal, paint, etc.)
  • New 2-stage, poly cradle bushings (installed)
  • Billet aluminum differential bushings (installed)

    >New OE Hellcat Cradle Assembly:

  • Brand new core from Mopar purchased direct from GForce

Note: Kit is available for the 06-14 Charger, Challenger, 300C and Magnum. Will require the same purchase of the new subframe as indicated above. See notes on installation below.

    2006-2014 Mopar Platform:

  • Uses 15+ style exhaust mounting points.
  • Factory 2-piece, passenger side carrier bearing mount in the trans tunnel will need to be clearanced or removed.
  • The 06-14 control arms fit very tight around the CVs, and they will make contact at full droop (which is normal of many aftermarket axles). However, the newer “Hellcat style” lower control arms have more clearance around the outer CV and might offer a little more peace of mind for daily abuse.
  • Axles require the SRT8 style 32-spline outer hubs (some of the earlier cars were a lesser spline count. Upgrading to the newer 35-spline, 15+ hubs is also an option. (Any modifications such as this will need to be noted when placing the order)

    Fitment:

GForce 9” Kits are designed to fit in the factory location and work with factory components with as little modification as possible. When installing a GForce 9” kit, it is up to the installer to check for clearance around all components, including potential clearance issues from drivetrain and suspension movement. Axle boots can sometimes be close enough to shocks or suspension that they could rub and cause a failure down the road. Most OEM shock mounts can be loosened and allow you to push the shock body away from the axle and gain a little more clearance to avoid any issues.

Modification might be necessary for driveshaft clearance, especially with exhaust, specifically towards the diff, where the pinion height will be at a lower level, compounded by using a larger diameter driveshaft. 9” kits are not guaranteed to fit with ANY other aftermarket products. Aftermarket shocks, control arms, etc. may present clearance issues. If CV boots have clearance issues, low profile boots can be purchased at an upgraded cost. The low-profile boots reduce the amount of available axle angle in comparison to the standard boots, so they are not ideal for lowered or high axle angle vehicles. This includes 2010-15 Camaro and all years of Mopar platforms. If you have questions or would like to add low profile boots to your axles, please contact us for more information.

Dedicated race cars may require other considerations for gear and bushing choice; please call with questions.

    Damage Prevention

NO DRIVELINE COMPONENT IS BOMBPROOF! GForce does not put a power rating on any driveline components as there are entirely too many variables that can affect a driveline component outside of power. We take great pride in trying to build the strongest driveline components to fit within certain applications, but it is important to know that You, the end customer, are responsible for seeing to proper installation and You, as the driver, are responsible for the lifespan of your axles or other driveline components.

Want to read more about preventing damage to your driveline and maximizing the performance of these parts? Read more here>

    Service:

All driveline components will fatigue or wear over time depending on how the vehicle is driven and what level of performance is demanded from them. CV joints are aware item and will see wear over time, but with our current design, axles can be sent in for service. So boots, fasteners, and CV assemblies can be serviced without scrapping the complete axle assembly. It is up to each customer to establish their own maintenance intervals based upon the manner in which their car is driven. Individual inner or outer splined stubs and axle bars can be replaced as well if they twist or are damaged due to wheel hop or simply from power levels exceeding capability of the material.
