In 2008, Mopar introduced the 4th Gen Dodge Ram 1500. In 2010, Mopar introduced the Ram 1500—separating Ram Trucks (or RAM) from Dodge as a new standalone auto brand which would carry the fourth generation of Ram pickup trucks through the 2021 model year (Classic 1500, 2010-2019 Ram 2500, and 2010-2019 Ram 3500). The fourth generation saw subtle design changes, the introduction of several new trim levels, and a phase-out of the Corsair 3.7L and 4.7L engines in favor of Pentastar and Eco-Diesel turbo-diesel engines.
